This sets demands on the employees who need new kinds of skills and competencies to be able to do their work effectively. Since the main task of the universities is to educate and prepare their students for the future working life, it would be crucial to be able to predict what skills and competencies the graduates will need. Due to the challenges brought about by globalization, international skills and cultural knowledge have become essential in any work. Therefore, the main goal of the workshop is to provide sound understanding of the importance of the skills and competencies needed in the working life environment. It will also discuss how employers regard international skills and knowledge when recruiting new employees.

LIVE ART PERFORMANCES

  • " SCENOGRAPHY AND COSTUME DESIGN IN VISUAL AND INFRARED SPECTRUM "

    21 March, 2018
    Hall: Radetzky 2
    14:30 - 14:45
PhD Lidija Golubic / Zagreb University of Applied Sciences, Croatia

The stage set has been designed for two spectral areas. Textile design has been arranged with two independent images, two pieces of information that we observe through infra-red cameras and parallel projection. The clothes contain a hidden image that brings its own story. The consequences of introducing a dual scene is a necessity for new methods in directing, stage set and the way of articulating new and old pieces for the theater stage. Digital print of the fabric has been subordinated to arranging twin dyes for which a new recipe of achieving an invisible image has been developed. Clothes with dual design for the theatrical performance “Snow White and the seven dwarves” will be presented at this innovative stage set.

  • " INFRARED PAINTING IN FINE ART OF NADA ŽILJAK "

    21 March, 2018
    Hall: Radetzky 2
    14:45 - 15:00
PhD Jana Grsik / Zagreb University of Applied Sciences, Croatia

Nada Žiljak is applying an infrared method in painting. Infrared painting is an innovative method of creating a unique double image - one visible to the eye, and the other, hidden drawing that can be seen with an infrared camera. The first image of a luxurious, often abstract, colourist conceals a monochrome drawing of distinct erotic themes. The author creates an original world based on hiding and the discovery inspired by the power of his own imagination. With the longing for mysteriousness, he also exudes the authoritarian irony that criticizes ones’ hypocrisy - the simultaneous need for personalizing concealment, masking and exposing, controlling the other. Therefore, not only technology and new visual expression are presented but also a new approach to presenting human intimacy, certain taboos of topics, or a certain artistic worldview.

  • " RATEČE, YESTERDAY AND TODAY " (DIALECTOLOGICAL DOCUMENTARY FILM)

    21 March, 2018
    Hall: Radetzky 2
    15:00 - 16:00
Prof. Rada Cossuta / Institute for Linguistic studies, Slovenia

The dialectological documentary film “Rateče, yesterday and today” is the first result of the ERC (European Research Council) Advanced Grant-ARRS (Slovene Research Agency) project TRIPSAIT, set in the context of audio-visual recording of Slovene dialects and vernaculars in the linguistically diverse Alpine Adriatic Tripoint area lying at the juncture of Slavic, Roman and Germanic world. This remarkable example of different languages and dialects coexistence and rich cultural heritage remained fairly unexplored from the linguistic, especially lexical, point of view. With the aim of preserving the marvelous cultural heritage of the area, this project research seeks to use the gathered vocabulary to reconstruct the story of local people.

  • " BRIDGES OF COMMUNICATION - POLYGLOT RAP & PIANO DUET WORKSHOP SESSIONS "

    21 March, 2018
    Hall: Radetzky 2
    16:30 - 17:15
Mr. Radu Deac, Romania / Babes-Bolyai University, Romania

Being a result of the ongoing dialogue between society, the world and the nomad spirit, Mistah White’s performance uses languages as musical tones and notes, in an effort to show the nuances of multiculturalism, and to create a new method of intercultural approach. Accompanied by Sorin Robert Indrei, a celebrated classical pianist, Mistah White’s polyglot skills will paint the sounds of diversity and multicultural appreciation. Bridges of connection will be built during the 40min musical adventure through the highs and lows of human experience, by using and combining these languages in order to teach and support social inclusion, peace-making and open communication.
