SWS Event Location - Schönbrunn Palace
The Extended Scientific Sessions SWS Vienna ART 2021 of the International Scientific Conference of Social Sciences (ISCSS) SWS, will be held in one of the most historical palace buildings in Vienna - Schönbrunn Palace.
Schloss Schönbrunn is welcoming all SGEM participants in the period of 7-11 December, 2021.
Schönbrunn Palace was Habsburg’s head summer residence, which is located in Hietzing, Vienna. The tremendous palace has 1,441 rooms, and is considered to be one of the most substantial cultural and architectural monuments in the history of Austria. The palace is famous for its gardens, sculptures and Roman ruins. Inside the complex one could become witness of the changing styles of Arts for period more than 400 years. The palace reflects the different tastes and interests of the successive Austrian monarchs.
The name Schönbrunn literary means “beautiful spring”. The first building – Katterburg mansion – was built in 1548 and since then the whole area around it served as a hunting lands and leisure complex for statesmen and aristocrats. During the reign of Maria Theresa, as an imperial summer residence, Schönbrunn Palace became the glittering focus of court life.

At the 20th session of the World Heritage Committee (1996), Schönbrunn Palace was put on the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites - announcing the palace and its gardens as a unique Baroque ensemble.
