The Natural History Museum Vienna is one of the largest museums and non-university research institutions and centers in Austria and home of one of the world most famous and unique objects such as enormous dinosaur skeletons. The museum is home to millions of objects available in the 39 exhibit halls and includes the world’s oldest and largest public collections. More than 60 scientists and numerous guest researchers carry out basic research in a wide range of topics related to human sciences, earth sciences, and life sciences.
The libraries of the Natural History Museum are based on the 18th century collections of the Habsburgs and currently consist around 500,000 items. The museum shop is located on the on the left side of the entrance area in the lower hall. The visitors can find numerous products there, including replicas of popular exhibits.
